We consistently have 4 events throughout the year and periodically add 2 or more events annually. Keep checking our site for specific event dates
March----"Bud Break Celebration" This is the celebration of the beginning of a new season of fruit. The vines awaken from a long winter sleep to beginning feeding again. They begin by forming leaf buds and slowly opening to reveal the cutest little fuzzy leaf you've ever seen.
May----"Spring Festival" Spring time at the Winery is an incredible time of year. Everything is in bloom and the vines are growing 3-4 inches a day. The vine canopies shine like glass with a fresh green hue during the spring and they're well on the way to pollination and fruit set.
Saturday Sept, 15th----"Grape Stomp Festival" This is probably our best time at Meinhardt Vineyards, because the fruit is here and now the rush is on to get it from the vineyard to the tanks. So many people are interested in how we get the juice from the grapes, but the truth is it's all done by machinery these days. However, there was a time when it had to be done by hiring hundreds of women to, literally, stomp the juice from the grapes with their bare feet. I t is thought the reason women were preferred was largely due to the condition of their feet. Since most men during this period worked some type of labor intensive job that their feet wouldn't be as clean nor as soft, therefore taking more "care" of the process. All of that is said to say that we want to give everyone the chance to experience some tradition so we will have plenty of fresh grapes for adults and kids alike to get in and stomp around. After your stomp you will place your feet on your very own mat to take your purple foot impression so you'll never forget the day you stomped grapes for the first time. In addition to your souvenir mat you can return to the winery to purchase wine made from the days celebration.
November----"Fall Festival" The weather is changing and the vines are shutting down for the coming winter. While their stressful season is coming to an end it's just the beginning of a joyous time in our great country, "The Holidays". We want to celebrate the holidays with this festival and invite everyone out to Eat, Drink, and Be Thankful.
December----"Christmas at The Winery" We invite everyone to come join us during the "spirit-filled" season. We will have several local choirs singing christmas carols beneath the pergola, Jan's incredible collection of "snow villages" on display and the entire winery and courtyard decorated "to the nines". If you are interested in your church choir participating in this evening please contact us via email or by phone here at the winery. |
